By accessing or using FormerCars (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2) What FormerCars Does

FormerCars provides tools that help users track and organize vehicle information, including VIN-related records and vehicle details you choose to store. The Service may also provide links to third-party resources (e.g., search engines, history reports). FormerCars does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any vehicle information.

3) Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

4) Accounts and Security
  • You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it updated.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
5) Your Content and Data

“User Content” includes VINs, vehicle notes, photos (if enabled), and any other information you submit.

  • You retain ownership of your User Content.
  • You grant FormerCars a limited license to host, store, process, and display your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit your User Content.
6) Public Profiles and VIN Visibility

If you enable a public profile, certain profile information may be visible to others as described in your settings. VINs are intended to remain private by default and are not meant to be publicly displayed. You understand that:

  • Public information may be indexed by search engines.
  • You control whether your profile is public and can disable it at any time in settings.
7) Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to access another user’s account or data without permission.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service at scale without our written consent.
  • Upload malware or disrupt the Service.
  • Use the Service to stalk, harass, or dox others, or to facilitate fraud.
8) Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may include links to third-party websites or services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

9) Service Changes, Availability, and Termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or part) at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you violated these Terms or if needed to protect the Service or other users.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any vehicle/VIN data is accurate.

11) Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FORMERCARS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

12) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold FormerCars harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact us with details of the alleged infringement.

14) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
